Diese Arbeit ist relativ spontan im Mai 2026 entstanden. Als neues Mitglied der Darmstädter Sezession hatten wir eine gemeinsame Ausstellung geplant. Durch die Anzahl von sieben neuen Mitgliedern war im Ausstellungsraum natürlich nicht viel Ausstellungsfläche vorhanden. Also dachte ich mir spontan: Ich schreibe ein Skript, das sich mehrere hundert Bilder nimmt – Bilder, die ich in den letzten ca. 1,5 Jahren mit Machine Learning in all meinen Experimenten erstellt habe – und lasse sie per Skript zunächst in einer 3D-Umgebung platzieren. Dort simuliere ich eine Kamera, die zum einen erstmal das Bild rendert, und zwar in einer Größe, die es mir ermöglicht, es auf 150 cm × 200 cm ohne Verlust zu drucken.

Die runde Form der Bilder ist tatsächlich durch ein verschobenes Komma entstanden. Aber weil Fotografien bzw. das Abbild einer Camera Obscura eigentlich immer rund ist, dachte ich mir: Okay, das lasse ich so. Doch dieses Bild allein genügte mir nicht. Ich platzierte dazu einige QR-Codes, die die Betrachter:innen auf ein Video auf meiner Website verweisen. Dort sieht man in einer simplen Animation, wie die Schwerkraft aufgehoben wird – genau dort, wo all die Bilder liegen. Währenddessen erklärt in 8-Bit-Binärcode eine KI, in Ton und Bild, dass  Technik uns Menschen nicht retten wird.

Der Titel dieser Arbeit ist auch ein wenig aus dem Gedanken entstanden, dass ich immer wieder erklären muss, dass die Technologien nicht das Problem sind, sondern die Menschen. Daher ist der Titel der Arbeit: 01001101 11111100 01100100 01100101 – und bedeutet müde.

This work came about relatively spontaneously in May 2026. As a new member of the Darmstadt Sezession, we had planned a group exhibition. With seven new members, there wasn’t, of course, much exhibition space available in the gallery. So I had a spontaneous idea: I’d write a script that takes several hundred images—images I’d created over the past approximately 1.5 years using machine learning in all my experiments—and have the script place them in a 3D environment. There, I simulate a camera that first renders the image at a size that allows me to print it at 150 cm × 200 cm without any loss of quality.

The round shape of the images actually resulted from a misplaced decimal point. But since photographs—or rather, the image produced by a camera obscura—are always round, I thought to myself: Okay, I’ll leave it that way. But this image alone wasn’t enough for me. I added a few QR codes that direct viewers to a video on my website. There, a simple animation shows how gravity is suspended—exactly where all the images are located. Meanwhile, an AI explains in 8-bit binary code, through sound and image, that technology will not save us humans.

The title of this work also came a bit from the idea that I have to explain over and over again that technology isn’t the real problem—people are. That’s why the title of the work is: 01001101 11111100 01100100 01100101—and it means tired.
